Students in public relations at the School of Journalism and Communications are eligible for two great scholarships thanks to the generous donations of alumni and friends. 
- Joyce McHolick Scholarship in Advertising and Public Relations: This is a $3000 annual scholarship awarded by the School to a student in advertising and/or public relations. The student must have reached senior status by fall term, 2009. The recipient must demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and community service. - Rich Jernstedt Scholarship in Public Relations: This is a $5000 annual scholarship awarded by the School to a student in public relations. Rich Jernstedt, from Carlton, Oregon, is the chief marketing officer, executive vice-president and senior partner, Fleishman-Hillard International Communications, the largest public relations firm in the world.
