A couple of additions to this from someone who sees a lot of resumes and interviews a good number of recent grads:

1) don't follow the person you are interviewing with on Twitter before you meet them - it's creepy. Read their posts then ask them in the interview if you can follow them

2) your blog is your resume, as is your facebook page as is your Twitter stream. If you have posts in poor taste you can bet that they will be seen and impact your chances to be hired.

3) 48 hrs to send a thank you doesn't work anymore. Yes a note is nice, but send an email too, and send it right away.

Kelli,

Thanks for sharing Erika's presentation. She hit it dead on the head with the elements of a personal brand. I found the presentation concise and to the point regarding the three different ways job seekers can showcase their personal brand.

Thank you for the positive comments!I know how overwhelming the job market can be for a recent college grad. Hopefully these few tips will help you create a stronger, more cohesive message. I plan on developing my own personal band in the process of sharing with others.

Excellent presentation. I think a key aspect of personal branding is that everything you do under your brand either enhances it or detracts from it. Thus, in all your online presences try to add value to others - if you add value - and others find you useful, then your online personal brand will grow.

Bill Romanos
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Great presentation about personal branding. I like how you talk about how to make a good impression during interviews and with portfolios.
